***No dropping bar unless you have at least 25# plates a side.  And even then, think about this:  Are you really saving time dropping from the top, waiting for that barbell to settle, resetting your stance instead of controlling the bar to the floor? Or do you lack the cardio endurance to work at high speed at your chosen barbell weight? Follow the bar down:  lower to your shoulders, then to your thighs, and then to the platform.
